Bac Giang industry promotion spurs product innovation, quality

In 2019, the center completed three national and 24 provincial industry promotion projects, with a total budget of VND5.2 billion. The projects focused on technical demonstration models of animal feed production; application of drying systems in rice noodle production; and application of advanced machines and equipment in the production of wooden, mechanical and agricultural products. The center also honored typical rural industrial products; and gave design and packaging advice for local products.

The scale and quality of industry promotion projects has gradually improved, making a positive impact on the local rural industry development.

Apart from supports for technological innovation and quality improvement of rural products, the Bac Giang Province Trade and Industry Promotion Center also acted as an advisor to develop, implement and complete programs designed to introduce and boost consumption of Bac Giang’s major specialties in Hanoi. Specifically, it coordinated with Saigon Co.op to bring litchis to supermarkets and wholesale markets in central and southern regions; and with the provincial labor federation to organize the “Booths for workers” program at the Dinh Tram Industrial Park.

Furthermore, energy efficiency models built and widely disseminated in the province served as an example for local organizations, businesses and communities, contributing to energy security in association with environmental protection and sustainable socioeconomic development.

Building on its results, Bac Giang Province continues to improve the quality of industry promotion programs and trade promotion activities. This year, it will issue the provincial industry promotion and trade promotion plans for the 2020-2025 period and map out a plan on appropriate use of the provincial industry promotion fund in 2020. Also in the pipeline is the continued development of provincial trade promotion programs focusing on major products and traditional markets while promoting local industrial and handicraft products to new markets. Particularly, it will boost exports of litchis in the Japanese market since the country has officially opened the door for the direct import of Vietnamese litchis. It will also build a plan on energy efficiency based on Plan 1502/KH-UBND dated May 8, 2019 of the provincial People’s Committee.
